And if you opt for an amd card you have the advantage of also being able to use it with macos. For anyone wondering if it’s worth it, trust me, it really is. It’s such a nice thing to have and works flawlessly. By connecting 5 cables I completely transform my 2015 15” into a 144hz gaming pc. And to top it all off I use an ethernet to thunderbolt 2 cable ‘cause wifi sucks. Then I bought an adapter to get 4 usb ports out of the one on the left and connected a razer blackwidow elite, razer kraken chroma and razer abyssus to it. I have an internal 1 tb ssd sitting in an external usb 3.0 enclosure that I keep all my games on and connect to usb port on the right of the mac. Bought an 144hz monitor and connected it to the core x.
If you guys want to use your mac as a laptop during the day and pc gaming during the night this is what I did with mine:īought a TB3 cable, TB3 to TB2 adapter and connected it to an nvidia rtx 2070 inside a razer core x enclosure.
